PIANO AND B-3 LEGENDS:
HARGUS "PIG' ROBBINS, TONY HARRELL, BILLY LIVSEY, and of course BARRY BECKETT
THAT IS JUST A SAMPLING OF THE INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS WHO APPEAR ON THIS ALBUM. AS WE ALL KNOW BARRY BECKETT WAS ONE OF COUNTRY, ROCK AND BLUES' GREATEST PRODUCERS AND MUSICIANS WHO BEGAN AS A MEMBER OF THE MUSCLE SHOALS, AL "SWAMPERS".
JD'S DEBUT ALBUM WAS ONE OF THE LAST GREAT ALBUMS HE PRODUCED BEFORE BEGINNING HIS OWN LABEL: "BTM RECORDS"!!!
HIS CREDITS INCLUDE:
HANK WILLIAMS JR, VERN GOSDIN, NEAL McCOY, CONFEDERATE RAILROAD, VINCE GILL, BOB DYLAN, ETTA JAMES, and KENNY CHESNEY just to name a few!!
a) BONUS TRACKS INCLUDE EVERY MASTER RECORDING JD MYERS MADE FOR ASYLUM RECORDS FROM 1995-1997 INCLUDING THREE MORE TRACKS PRODUCED BY BARRY BECKETT FOR BECKETT PRODUCTIONS THAT WERE REMOVED FROM THE FINAL ALBUM BEFORE THEY COULD BE FINISHED COMPLETELY AND RECEIVE A PROPER MIX. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE ORIGINAL ALBUM AS THEY ARE THE MOST COUNTRY SONGS IN THE COLLECTION AND SET THE STAGE FOR THE DIRECTION JD HAS BEEN HEADED EVER SINCE.
b) TWO MASTER RECORDINGS PRODUCED BY MICHAEL LUNN AND MICHAEL KNOX (now the Platinum selling producer of country superstar Jason Aldean). ONE TRACK IS UNRELEASED AND ONE HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC SINCE 1996.
c) FINALLY, YOU WILL GET TO HEAR THE FIRST THREE RECORDINGS JD MADE FOR ASYLUM RECORDS PRODUCED BY GREGG BROWN (Travis Tritt, Chris LeDoux, Waylon Jennings).
This album is currently only available digitally on this site as the original digital 10 song download, however, the extended mix used for the video of JD's first single, "When I Think About You" has been substituted in place of the single version as JD originally lobbied Asylum Records to do as he believes it to be the definitive version of the song that Barry Beckett produced.
Review from "All Music Guide" critic, Thom Owens:
"Drawing from the sounds of Nashville, Memphis, Bakersfield, and Austin, JD Myers proves beyond a neon shadow of a doubt why he is the next heir apparent to some of his musical idols with his groundbreaking debut album".

"Before the high & lonesome dirt roads of America were bumper to bumper with formulaic rhythms, $.99 cent hooks meant to titillate the every decreasing attention span of listeners & Daisy Duke clad passengers eager to crack open a cold one for their GAP wearing counterparts behind the wheel, they were simply high & lonesome dirt roads. Occasionally a beat up old pickup would find its way down one of those roads and if you listened carefully enough as it passed, you'd hear the tell-tale sound of some old Country song scratching its way through the busted speakers. You knew what it was by the song. You knew who sang it by the voice. You knew Jerry Reed's guitar when he slipped into that Georgia swagger. You knew Waylon Jennings' heart when he realized his heaven. You knew Johnny Cash's soul when he let you look inside.
And not a damn one of them had to shake their ass for you to do so.
They just played. And we listened.
It seems everyone these days is an Outlaw. The Top 40 is riddled with them... or so they'd have you believe. But it doesn't take much courage to reinvent the wheel. It doesn't take much panache to tell everyone what a badass you are. And sadly, it doesn't really take much talent to saddle on up with heavy rotation on 98 WSIX . It just takes doing what everyone else does. Beer, Trucks & Chicks. The Holy Trifecta of Bullshit.
That, my friends, is the furthest thing from an Outlaw you can possibly be.
This is not your Granddaddy's album. Nor is it your kids' album. This is your album. This is what you deserve. No suits were worn in the song selections you're about to hear. No studies were conducted on test audiences to determine which song would make the best video or sell the most T-shirts. This album is a handful of tunes that reflect back on an era of music that has slowly and purposefully been pushed to the side. These songs have been recorded by a man who isn't going to let that slide easily into the dark."
-Mike Miller "The Vagabond King"
JD Myers was a staple on Lower Broadway from the years 2007-2012. He recorded almost every show he gave during those years. This is a sampling of some of what he considers to be his greatest performances "Live In Nashville".
He performs a few of his own songs, the ones that seemed to be most popular among the people who came to see him live week after week and were fans of his original albums.
In addition, he covers not only WAYLON, but ELVIS PRESLEY, DWIGHT YOAKAM, HANK WILLIAMS JR, and BUCK OWENS!!
Produced & Compiled by JD Myers
Overdubs recorded and Mixed by Bobby Clark
Mastered by JD Myers
UPDATE: There will be a "LIVE IN NASHVILLE VOL. 2" to be released along with a brand new studio album in 2019!!
